What exactly is Hostara?+
Hostara is a virtual co-host, trained on your property. It answers routine guest questions over WhatsApp using your rules, your knowledge, and your tone of voice. It handles the 80% of messages that are just 'what's the Wi-Fi' or 'what time can I check in', and pauses anything sensitive for you to handle.
Is it AI replying, or a human?+
It's AI, but tightly scoped. It only replies using the knowledge base you set up for your property, and it's built to say 'let me check with the host' on anything outside that. Nothing is ever made up.
Which platforms do you support?+
Hostara currently works with Airbnb. Support for VRBO, Booking.com, and other platforms is on our roadmap. If you're on multiple platforms, book a call and we'll discuss your setup.
How does guest opt-in work?+
At booking, you forward the details to Hostara via WhatsApp. Guests are told upfront they're chatting with your AI assistant, and can always request a human.
Do you integrate with Airbnb?+
Not directly, by design. Hostara works over WhatsApp so you stay fully compliant with Airbnb's messaging policies. You simply forward booking details.
Will this get me in trouble with Airbnb?+
No. Hostara operates on WhatsApp, not on the Airbnb platform. Many hosts already use WhatsApp post-booking; we simply help you respond faster.
What about emergencies or safety issues?+
Anything involving safety, emergencies, maintenance, or strong emotion is paused and escalated to you immediately on WhatsApp with full context.
Do you ever promise refunds or compensation?+
Never. Refunds, compensation, discounts, or any financial decision is always paused for you to handle personally. No exceptions.
How is privacy handled?+
Guest data is used only to answer their questions. You can delete properties and guest history at any time. We follow GDPR and store data in the EU/UK.
